Parlez-vous français?

Could this be me in a few months? It’s seems super funny when Steve Martin is a Frenchman wanting to learn English, with his ‘hamburger’ pronunciation coming out more like “hadburgerrer”. But I fear that it won’t be *so* very funny after 6 months of trying to say things in French and not quite getting the flow of the language.

Happiness

Happiness. It is something we always talk about, and this is what it is. It can be a laugh following a joke, or your neighbor’s giggles. Both of those are examples derived from the same source. It can be found almost anywhere whether at a birthday party or a boring day at school, happiness is always somewhere in the room. It cannot be contained, and should not be, for everyone deserves and needs it. The best way to get happiness achieved is to give happiness as a gift to someone else with anything funny you can find or just by being nice. The way I hope to get it is in paris, and I hope I will.

Literary inspirations

We’ve been reading books about life in Paris from different generations and cultures. The one we’re absorbed in now is the story of Sylvia Beach (and The Lost Generation) who founded the Shakespeare & Company Bookstore in Paris and did the original publication of Joyce’s Ulysses and in doing so served as a hub of literature for many artists during the twenties and thirties.

Book here: Sylvia Beach and the Lost Generation: A History of Literary Paris in the Twenties and Thirties

The Introductory

Hi, Kiddo here. Today is my first essay in a list of many great writings I will put out on this new website. Moving on, I’m going to talk about what this whole blog is about, which is our family trip to France. My opinion is actually a unexpected one, I kinda don’t want to go there because I’m leaving my friends behind for a whole year. Speaking smartly, I’d say that you do not want to listen to me rant, due to that you also probably think that I think you will read these first lines. I am not the only person on this website however noting that my mom is doing half of the posts. I think I have introduced. Kiddo out.

Paris, at Dusk

Last night, we made plans for going to Paris in April. We need to pick an apartment to rent, and hopefully lock down the school situation for Kiddo. I should be happier about going to Paris in springtime, but I’m mostly trying to figure out how to get “it” all done.
